Food allergy

Food allergy is a reaction of the bodys immune system to something in a food or an ingredient in a food Usually the allergenic substance is a protein. The eight most common food allergens are: eggs,  milk, peanuts, soy, tree nuts, fish and shellfish, wheat. However other foods can cause allergy. The  symptoms of food allergy are very various they differ among individuals and in the same person during  different exposures. Common symptoms are: skin irritation such as hives, rashes and eczema, and  gastrointestinal symptoms such as vomiting, diarrhea, and nausea. Sneezing, runny nose and  shortness of breath can also result from food allergy. Finally some people may experience a more  severe reaction called anaphylaxis.
